Position Purpose

Under general supervision, assemble, install, repair, and maintain pipes, pipe-fittings, and fixtures according to established codes and specifications. Perform a variety of emergency service work to unclog sewer and storm lines, thaw frozen pipes, and repair pipe leaks, using a variety of materials and techniques of the trade.

Education & Formal Training High school diploma or equivalent
Other Education & Formal Training

Completion of related trade school or related military experience may substitute for experience on a 1-year for 1-year basis.

Computer Skills
Experience

Four (4) years plumbing experience as a seasoned tradesperson.

Working knowledge of the principles and procedures of the plumbing trade.
Working knowledge of plumbing, steam, water supply, and return systems.
Ability to troubleshoot using tools of the trade, including hand and power tools.
Ability to read and understand blue prints, diagrams, and sketches.
Mechanical aptitude, including ability to make general building repairs and knowledge of construction methods.
Working knowledge of electrical systems and devices.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to work with the other trades, as requested.
