This is a full-time, benefits eligible position working approximately 1768 hours per year. This position is not scheduled to work when students are not on campus, i.e. Spring break, Fall break and semester breaks.

Working hours:

Fall/Spring semesters: Monday – Friday; 8 am to 5 pm
Summer semester: Monday – Thursday; 7:30 am to 4:30 pm

Position Purpose

Serve as biller, coder, and insurance claims assessor for the Health Center. Perform duties ensuring all claims are filed in a timely manner meeting industry standards and assuring information is correct, appropriate coding, evaluation of statements and reports, and performing quality assurance checks for both commercial and student health insurance programs.

Provides administrative assistance as needed.

Computer Skills Word-Processing, Spreadsheet, Other - Electronic Medical Records, Billing/Coding software

On (1) year of billing/coding experience required. Two years of experience preferred.

Experience in a medical/clinical setting preferred.

Billing/Coding certification or eligible for the certification.

Working knowledge of medical terminology required.

Working knowledge of medical records, insurance, and charges required.
