Position Purpose

The Director of Alumni Relations plans and implements a comprehensive program for effectively engaging and communicating with over 100,000 alumni of the University of Central Missouri.

The Alumni Relations program is part of the UCM Office of University Advancement and Alumni Foundation, which builds relationships with individuals and organizations, secures and distributes philanthropic support, and promotes volunteerism to help advance UCM. The Director is an effective ambassador of UCM with alumni and the general public. He/she has an outgoing personality and is an excellent speaker and enthusiastic advocate of the institution and UCM Alumni.

The Director recruits, trains, and engages alumni volunteers to assist with the development of Central Missouri Alumni Mule Nation chapters in key cities. These volunteers help organize social and career networking receptions and generate good turnouts of alumni at events through telephone calls, social media, e-mails, etc.

Responsible for leading efforts to organize and promote other events including Homecoming, Alumni Awards, reunions, “New Alumni” welcome for graduating seniors, etc.

Effectively leverages UCM leadership, Foundation Board of Directors, Board of Governors, Faculty and Staff for alumni events.

The Director works with staff to keep the Alumni Foundation website vibrant and interesting. The Director creates and sends e-communications to highlight and promote Central Missouri Alumni achievements, events and special guests of UCM.

Collaborates with the UCM Store to market UCM/Central Missouri clothing and merchandise to alumni to generate revenue to support alumni programming.

Experience

Required: Five (5) or more years of full-time work experience and demonstrated record of successful results in alumni relations, public relations, communications, fundraising/development, program development and implementation, or related field.
