Position Purpose

The Director of Corporate Relations is responsible for being a productive fundraising professional and excellent ambassador of the University of Central Missouri. The Director:
Is a key member of a UCM team that builds and maintains comprehensive strategic relationships for the University with companies. Collaborates and coordinates with UCM academic administrators, collegiate units, academic departments, Career Services Office, and UCM faculty and staff who help set up student internship and co-op opportunities at corporations and businesses.
Focuses primarily on companies that employ several UCM alumni and actively recruit and hire new graduates of UCM.
Cultivates and solicits companies and company foundations to increase their philanthropic investment in UCM. Secures philanthropic contributions in support of student scholarships, academic programs, buildings and facilities, endowed faculty chairs and professorships, etc.
Solicits and secures gifts in kind of equipment, furnishings, computer hardware and software, etc., needed by UCM colleges, academic departments, and other University programs and offices.
Provides good stewardship of donors and their contributions.
Meets fundraising financial and productivity goals.
Serves as a member of the UCM Office of University Advancement and Alumni Foundation team.
Updates the alumni and donor computer records system with contact reports, gift solicitations/proposals, and other information.

NOTE: The Director of Corporate Relations will be based in the Kansas City area and have an office at the new Missouri Innovation Campus in Lee’s Summit.

Bachelor’s in any field of study required.
A Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, Public Relations, Not-for-Profit Management, Communications or Related Field preferred.

Experience

Minimum of ten (10) years of work experience in full-time position(s).
Preferred: At least five years of successful experience in fundraising, sales, public relations, communications, etc.
Preferred: Experience traveling on business regionally and nationally.
