Position Purpose

The principal purpose of this position is to provide vision, direction, and leadership to the TRIO – Veterans Upward Bound (VUB) program that is in accordance with Federal government rules and regulations. The director will oversee all day-to day functions including supervision of VUB Staff, recruitment of qualified veterans and maintaining all records affiliated with VUB.

The primary objective of this position is to develop, monitor and grow the success of the VUB program. The VUB program is fully funded by the federal government. The director will be utilized to assist veterans by providing academic supports needed for participants to be successful in the college environment, and achieve the TRIO program objectives.

Experience

Minimum of three years’ experience in the areas of personnel management, leadership, and communication.
Minimum of three years of supervisory experience or progressively responsible administrative experience in higher education.
Familiarity with TRIO programs, their mission, and demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of underserved students.

Must be U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident to meet federal regulatory requirements for professional practice and entry onto Whiteman AFB or other DOD facilities.
