Position Purpose

The Department of Nutrition and Kinesiology at the University of Central Missouri invites applications for an Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator in Health Studies. This position is a full-time, 9-month, tenure-track position. Start date August 2018.

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: providing 12 semester hours of classroom instruction per semester; overseeing the Health Studies Program; recruitment of potential Health Studies students; participation in various departmental and university committees and professional development; performing scholarly activity to meet the standard of promotion & tenure.

Education & Formal Training Doctorate degree (Specify field(s) of study below)
Other Education & Formal Training

1. Doctoral degree in Health Studies or related field.
2. CPR/AED and First Aid for the Professional Rescuer or higher certified instructor for the American Red Cross (preferred but not required).

Computer Skills Word-Processing, Presentation, Class Management Software

1) Experience teaching Health courses in higher education (preferred, but not required).
2) Strong written and oral communication skills.
3) Strong organization and administration skills.
4) Demonstrated ability to work collegially with students, staff and faculty from diverse backgrounds, programs and colleges.
