Position Purpose

The Department of Elementary and Early Childhood Education at the University of Central Missouri is seeking to fill a tenure-track assistant professor position in elementary education beginning August 2018. Duties include teaching undergraduate and graduate elementary courses, teaching elementary science content and methods courses, advising undergraduate and graduate students, working closely with pubic school partners as part of a clinical program, conducting research in elementary education, and providing service to the university and profession. Regular teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester and this may include supervising student interns.

1. Ph.D. or Ed.D in elementary education or a closely related field is preferred and must be completed prior to tenure and promotion.

Experience

Minimum of 5 years of K-12 teaching in elementary or middle school science are required with preference given to candidates with middle school science certification.
