Position Purpose

Under the general supervision of the Planned Maintenance Supervisor, HVAC III Technician, or HVAC II Technician, perform general maintenance work in the operation and repair of assigned equipment. Perform repair work on fan coil units and ventilation fans. Perform preventive maintenance on assigned equipment.

Education & Formal Training High school diploma or equivalent
Other Education & Formal Training

Formal HVAC training and/or related military experience may substitute on a 1 year for 1 year basis.

Computer Skills
Experience

Minimum six months experience in HVAC service, operations, and/or preventive maintenance in an industrial or commercial setting.

Other Special Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

General mechanical and electrical ability.
General knowledge of systems operations, steam, A/C and plumbing.
Ability to read and understand simple blueprints, diagrams, sketches, schematics, and drawings.

Specify sensory abilities:
Physical & Environmental Factors: Excessive standing and/or walking, Exposure to extreme temperatures, Exposure to fumes and/or chemicals, Exposure to heights, Lifting (weight) - 70 lbs.
Other Physical & Environmental Factors

Work in cramped spaces, hot or wet areas.
Work from ladders, scaffolds, rooftops; may climb light poles; uses bucket truck.
Exposure to electrical current.
