Position Purpose

The Department of Communication is seeking to develop a pool of adjunct faculty who can teach Public Speaking in face-to-face classes located in Warrensburg, MO. This is not an offering for on-line instruction.

As is typical with adjunct faculty positions, teaching assignments are often offered with only a few weeks notice based upon class size, and the needs of the department. Additionally, adjunct faculty can only be offered a maximum of two sections (6 credit hours) per semester. Classes are for delivery to full time students so the typical class offering is between 9-3, M-W-F or 9-3 T/Th and the typical class size is 24 students.

Required:

Masters Degree (MS/MA) in Communication Studies (or a very closely related field) and have at a minimum 18 credit hours in the Communication concentration at the graduate level.

Preferred:

Doctoral degree in Communication Studies

Experience

Preferred:

Teaching experience in higher education

Experience with Blackboard.
