Position Purpose

The Department of Management at the University of Central Missouri seeks qualified applicants to teach a course in Restaurant Operations in the Spring 2017 semester on Monday night from 6-8:45 p.m. on the Warrensburg campus. The class is a face-to-face class.

Teach HM 3844 Restaurant Operations (3 credits) Front-of-house operational management skills are developed including service, labor management, customer expectations, and money management in-class and practice. Back-of-house skills covered include production management, sanitation, safety, supervision and equipment management. Food and beverage marketing and management are covered and service standards are demonstrated in on-campus catering events. Prerequisites: ServSafe Certification and either FOOD 3333 or Acct 2101.

Master’s degree must be from an institution with AACSB Accreditation.


- Master’s degree.

- Relevant experience in Restaurant Operations and Management.


- Master’s degree in Hospitality or related discipline.

- Teaching experience in higher education
- Commitment to and understanding of the use of experiential teaching methods.

- Ideally the qualified applicant will have both relevant front of house and back of house restaurant management experience.

- Experience with Blackboard.
